so they homey dj vinroc sent me his latest work a couple days ago. You may be familiar with his mixtapes…Reconstruction 1 &2, the best of Outkast… a lot of people know Vin for his entries into the So Much Soul series started by him and Triple Threat member Shortkut. But Beatfreaks is his album comprised of instrumentals he has made over the last few years. It’s an immediately solid album that should have your head moving as soon as the first song drops. if you are like me and misses real scratching in hip hop beats… you will appreciate the “‘tablist” touches to some of the songs.

Often times the production of a song that really carries the song… i can remember copping tape singles so that i could bump instrumentals on my walkman. Beatfreaks kinda brings me back to that vibe… just letting the beats keep my head nodding… Soundtracking the day so to speak.
